BIO

Luciann Lajoie is a classically trained actor, writer and producer who performs with companies like DCPA, Asolo Rep, and The Long Center. Her first play, Date*, premiered at the Denver Center Theatre Company/Off-Center, a creative hub for new works like Theatre of the Mind by David Byrne and Mala Gaonkar. She is also the founder and principal of Blackbox Productions, whose current projects include The Beckett Project, a multimedia series of Beckett shorts premiering at Edinburgh Fringe 2026; and The Identified Patient, a script in development based on real stories about medical gaslighting. Off stage, Luciann works with nationally recognized organizations fostering the power of ensemble and creative expression in maximum security prisons, senior living care facilities, and contemporary art centers.   She holds an MFA in acting from FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training and an MSc in I/O Psychiatry and Psychology from Kings College London. 

OF NOTE

Date* outperformed all business expectations set by DCPA, won “Best Use of Projections" (Westword), and was nominated for “Outstanding New Play” (Henry Awards); the subsequent tour included Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts and The Long Center for Performing Arts, among others. Box office performance at The Long Center earned Date* a coveted spot in the following season.
