Date* is an award-winning digitally enhanced one-woman show conceived from nearly 300 interviews Luciann conducted with a diverse set of internet daters. It was originally curated and co-produced with the Denver Center for the Performing Arts (where it premiered in 2012), and has garnered critical and commercial success in Denver, Austin, and Scottsdale. Luciann is the primary writer/producer and performer in Date*.
Sentencing Mitigation Documentary Film Production
Capitalizing on interview, narrative and film production experience, Luciann partners with Jeff Fierberg of Sora Digital to produce documentary shorts for sentence mitigation in the criminal justice system. Developed for an audience of one, this work is progressive, efficient, and effective.
The Theatre Group
The Theatre Group used interviews to devise and perform new work with fellow residents at Brookdale Senior Living, culminating in the development and performance of a multi-media piece about waiting for the elevators in partnership with The Knoebel Institute for Healthy Aging at University of Denver (The Elevator Piece was performed at the Gala opening of the Institute). Luciann founded and led the group, whose philosophies and methods were based in evidence-based interventions to support brain health in elders and new works development best practices.
The Narrative Project
Luciann is currently developing a multi-media piece that knits together narratives from the WPA’s Born In Slavery Collection and interviews with their living descendants; the interdisciplinary development team includes genealogist Jane Sullivan, slave narrative advisor Dr. Modupe Labode, and writer/performer Darlene Hope.
